Eesti Pagar
The mission of Eesti Pagar is to bake
Estonian traditional dark and white bread with devotion and respect.
Eesti Pagar undertakes to maintain sound quality of Estonian
bakery by valuing homegrown raw products and wholesomeness of cereal-based
products. Products of Eesti Pagar are made to Estonian people considering their
taste preferences. The Eesti Pagar brand has been in the market
since 2004 but a history of its predecessor started at the beginning of the last
century. A little bakery in Antsla started baking bakery products in 1914
already. Due to a wonderful flavour of bakery products, they soon won their
customers’ favour. In the course of time, the number of bakeries grew and
smaller bakeries had to aggregate their strengths in order to meet increased
demand of consumers.
In 1960s, bakeries were incorporated under the
brand ETK that supplied different stores of the ETK (Estonian Consumer’s
Cooperative) system.
In order to come closer to its customers and focus
on its primary activity – baking bakery products – it was decided to concentrate
products under the Eesti Pagar brand.
So traditions have been maintained
90 years already.
2004 was a year of changes for Eesti Pagar. More than
50 different bakery products obtained new eye-catching packaging. At the same
time, investments were made into state-of-the-art equipment and technologies.
Confectioners of Eesti Pagar are known over Estonia. About one hundred
different pastries that catch the eye and taste deliciously are coming from
their skilful hands.
Today Eesti Pagar employs approximately 400 people.
Bakery products are baked in Paide and Võru factories.
